Dell Launches Vostro 3000 Series Laptops for Business Users

 

Prominent PC maker Dell has unveiled a range of laptops under its lesser-known Vostro series. The new VOSTRO 3000 series will feature laptops which will come in the 13 inch, 14 inch, 15 inch and 17 inch sizes.

 

With these new laptops, Dell will be targeting the entrepreneurs and mobile professionals. And much to our relief this one doesn't look like the monstrosity supplied by the IT department of the office. Laptops given at the offices are notorious for their ugliness (remember IBM Thinkpad, Dell Latitude etc.). These new laptops have decent looks, if not great.

 A striking feature of the series is the prolonged battery life. Users can use the laptop for around 12 hours without charging the battery. This can be very helpful while flying long distances. Powered by the latest Intel 2nd generation Core i Series processors, with switchable graphics, the series features the voice enhancing technology called SRS Premium Voice Pro software, a digital array mic helps reduce ambient noise. This can be very helpful for video-conferencing. Then there are Full HD webcams (not available with the 13 inch model) to add to the video-conferencing experience.

The switchable graphichs feature is a cutting-edge feature which is of great use when it comes to saving power. The laptop automatically switches to low-power onboard graphics when there is no need to use the high-power discrete graphics. There are chiclet keyboards which come in the choice of three colours: Aberdeen Silver, Lucerne Red and Brisbane Bronze

The new Vostro series is being touted as the ideal laptop series for the businesses. Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director and General Manager, Small and Medium Businesses, Dell India said in a statement: “Whether you are pitching, analyzing, managing or collaborating with colleagues, partners and clients, the new Vostro 3000 series is designed to give users the power to do more with their laptop, With the latest Vostro collaboration enhancements, entrepreneurs have a sleek, capable technology tool that helps them impress no matter the size of their business or technology budget.”

The new laptops also come equipped with security options such as a standard built-in fingerprint reader and Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Suite. Businesses can also opt for the premium level of 24x7 IT support with the Dell ProSupport services.

The new Vostro 3000 series will be available in India on Dell.co.in and through the Dell channel network, from May 17, 2011. Pricing for the different models is as mentioned below.
